Since the dawn of time, Montmartre has been a place of worship, mystery and history
Montmartre Paris and Sacré-Cœur: One of the most beautiful district of the City of Lightand one of the most emblematic monument of Paris.
During this tour, you will learn about old stories of this famous neighborhood…
The highest point of Paris, “La Butte Montmartre”, is full of history.
As a matter of fact, during the 18th century, the highest point of the French capital with its 130 meters of altitude is known for its artist’s residences.
Welcome to one of the most iconic neighborhoods of Paris. Artists especially appreciated the low rents of Montmartre at that time, the village atmosphere and the many cabarets. Around 1900, Picasso, Van Dongen, Braque and Juan Gris created cubism in Montmartre district. Those artists used to frequent the old “cabaret of assassins” renamed as the “Lapin Agile” as well as “Le Consulat”, where Van Gogh used to have his habits.
Furthermore, it is the cradle of the “Commune de Paris”, an insurrectionary period in the history of Paris (19th century) during which blood was shed. At the site of the starting point of the Paris uprising, the basilica of the Sacred Heart of Montmartre was built to “expiate the crimes of the federates”.
Finally It is an entire universe in which you will dive in during this Montmartre walking tour, with one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the capital.

The meeting place was quite confusing. The described souvenir shop is no longer open. It would have been better if you specified left side of the funicular when facing Sacre- Coeur. Then, we were looking for our tour guide based on the description on our tickets but he was not wearing what was described. It took us 30minutes walking up and down the hill trying to locate our meeting place. This is the bad side of this tour. Once we found out your guide, he was nice and accommodating. He explained the history and details of the whole place -- Montmartre! He respects the solemnity of the church and gave us time to light candles and pray. He's amazing. It's worth booking this tour. But please, change the description of your meeting place!
The guide was very nice and looked to be very passionate about it. The entire tour was very nice explained. He kept us interested on the entire tour. Thank you Edward! The Sacre Coeur and Montmare have been a pleasure and significant part of our trip thanks to you!
