There’s nothing like Chambord Castle ! This French castle is located in the commune of Chambord, in the department of Loir-et-Cher in the Loire Valley. It is the largest castle in the Loire Valley. It is a wonderful place to visit ! The architecture of this French masterpiece is breathtaking, mixing traditional French medieval forms and classical Renaissance structures. It was built during the 16th Century during the reign of François Ier (Francis I).

Chambord Castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The medieval tradition castle is an impressive place to visit with its a large round tower, its dungeon, the immense windows that embellish the facade and the magnificent garden, recently restored

Discover eight rooms of the Castle fully reconstructed in 3D and virtual reality thanks to your histopad, and get hit by the perfect aesthetics and architectural elegance of the Castle. Dive into French Renaissance exploring the reconstructions of the castle in the 16th century, at the time of François Ier.

One of the architectural highlights is the spectacular open double spiral staircase that is the centrepiece of the château. No one ever had the certainty, but they were probably designed by Leonardo da Vinci! Head up to the roof and marvel at the detailed decorations that make Chambord Castle SO distinctive !

Things to know :

  • Please note that the château is open all year long, except for 1 January and 25 December. The castle will also be closed on 26 November 2018.
  • From the 30st of october until the 31rd of march, the castle opens from 9:00am to 5:00 pm (Low season).
  • From the 1st of april until the 29th of october the castle opens from 9:00am to 6:00 pm (High season).
  • Last access : 30 minutes before the closing time.
  • You must show your voucher at the counter of the Castle to collect your ticket and Histopad.
