Unique and strong of a rich and well-supplied history, London has things to tell us. No wonder then that the English capital offers more than 240 different museums to visit, from classic themes to the most unusual, making it one of the densest cities in the world. With a majority of these museums that welcome us for free, difficult to deprive themselves. Difficult to deprive oneself, but all the more difficult to choose among all these pearls of culture … So to help you a little, we have prepared a small selection of 5 museums to visit in London that were considered unavoidable and of which we are certain that they will leave you memories and cultural enrichment. It’s gone for exploration :
#1. The British Museum
It is simply one of the oldest museums in the world, since it opened its doors in 1753. There you will find all sorts of rare objects and works, dating from prehistoric times to today. Located in the Bloomsbury area, it is a must see in the English capital and our favorite.
#2. The Victoria & Albert Museum
In the heart of the Kensington district is the Victoria & Albert Museum, an art and decor museum that will delight you with ceramics, jewelery, decorative objects, furniture and amazing sculptures from around the world.
#3. The Natural History Museum
Enjoy your trip to Kensington to connect with the Museum of Natural History. A true treasure for lovers of the beginnings of our world, you will find there many skeletons of dinosaurs, not least because you will come face to face with a Trex or a doplodocus, and all sorts of other prehistoric species. A Jurassic Park in short, but less risky … We recommend this tour if you are traveling with children.
#4. The Science Museum
Always in the Kensinton district, take a look at this machine to go back in time to realize the evolution of inventions and the scientific and technical discoveries that have made, will make and will make the world. Simply the largest scientific collection in the world.
#5. The National Gallery
It is on the famous Place Trafalgar Square that you will find this unmissable world, where you can let your mind get lost to admire some of the greatest masterpieces of painting in the world. Van Gogh, Da Vinci, Gainsborough, to name but a few, are on display here.
